Oakland Game

OK...Now I'm impressed! The Niners did what I thought they SHOULD have...WON!

It wasn't just a good game, it was a GREAT day at the "Stick". The parking lot situation was a little annoying but, most of us got through it. It seemed like the Raider fans tried to buy up all the Pre-Paid parking passes for this one. I can't remember the time it took me almost an hour before I could get my car in. BUt once I was in, it was business as usual at Club 49.

We waited for everyone to arrive with tables, plates of food, drink, etc. There wasn't as much trash talking going on this year at C-49 because we had a few guest that were Raider fans so, I guess that could be the reason.

Anyway, There was plenty of the trash talking going on inside and I was there to support my fellow Niner Fan! The thing I liked was that most of the trash talk was mild...nothing too over the top...(fighting words). I sat behind the Niners bench...as usual and enjoyed the company of old and new friends. It's always nice to share a section with pumped up people. I'm sure that will only last until the actual season starts and it'll be back to the more subdued atmosphere.

The boys put on a good showing bringing what they did in Napa, home to the Stick. I'm sure there were people who said that what happened in Napa wasn't going to happen yesterday...Well surprise, It HAPPENED. I'm not here to report the game but, our Defense has me scratching my head...are they REAL? I know we need more Pass Rush but, the interception count is getting to be a high one. I like that!

I think the high light of the night for me was AFTER the game. I was getting ready to head down to the players parking lot and I had an extra pass. I looked around for someone I might know and offer them an opportunity to meet the players. Well, as I was looking, I came across and husband and wife who were waiting for the crowd to die down before heading out. We got to talking and it was brought to my attention that the wife was celebrating her 50th birthday at her FIRST ever NFL game.

What a great way to celebrate... a 49er win and....A chance to meet the players up close and personal! That's right, I took the wife down to meet the players. Her name was Debra and I thought she was going to pass out when we got down stairs. I don't think she thought I was serious until she actually saw the guys walking around and chillin with family and friends. She was so excited that she began to cry and couldn't really talk to the guys. Especially P Willy...Patrick Willis is her favorite player and she about fainted when I introduced her to him.

She took pictures, got autographs, shook hands and complimented each player she met. I've done this before, taken people back to meet the players, but I think this was the most satisfying of them all. I was really happy that I was able to make her game experience one to remember! She also told me that her daughter is in need of medical attention and that she's donating one of her kidney's so that her daughter can get better.

If there was ANYONE who deserved to have this experience...I would have to say she was the one!

To Debra and your daughter, I wish you both the best of everything and hope that make a speedy recovery. I also hope that we'll see you again at the 49ers games this season!

And that my friends was my day at the 49ers Raiders game!
