Ok this year was my first "Family Day" with the 49ers and I have to say...I was impressed!
I didn't know what to really expect as far as the crowd, the set-up, what players would be there and how they would placed around the stadium for autographs.
It didn't take me long to become a kid again as I hit the 40yrd. dash. My good friend and I ran the 40 and he's a little faster than I thought he would be but not by much. I thought we both would drop dead but, we did pretty good. Cory Sheets thought we did REAL good considering what we were wearing. My friend was in flip flops...LOL
I actually ran it three times. I ran one by myself to see what my time would be. I have to say, I'm very impressed with myself. I'm 45 as of this coming Saturday and I'm still able to run a 5.6 40 yrd dash.
Oh and did I mention that I was wearing blue jeans and tennis shoes? So I have to think that I could have gotten a 4.9 with a good stretch and the right clothing. Anyway, we had fun, did the locker room tour and that was the highlight of my day.
I have always wanted to see that room with my own eyes and I've finally done it. I was hoping there would be a little more to it but hey, it is what it is. So, I'll probably do it again next year and hang out near the 40 dash and maybe this time...I'll beat my buddy like I KNOW I can!
All in all, it was nice to see all the fans and their families and seeing everyone having a good time. That's what it's all about...Family Fun!
Until the next time...
See Ya @ The Stick
