Giants up, facing Chad Billingsley.

That was such an uneventful inning; it just ended and I already forgot everything that happened.

The six finalists were announced for the Premier League's footballer of they year. Suspiciously, of the six finalists a whopping five! Yeah, that's right, five! Were Manchester United players. The players nominated are GK Edwin Van Der Saar, Defenders Rio Ferdinaand and Nemanja Vidic, the fine-aging Ryan Giggs and of-course, reigning player of the year, every-one's favorite villain, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Brewers up, facing Tim Lincecum

Rickie Weeks - And Timmy walked the first batter of the year. A more rash man would throw in the towel for this season already.

Corey Hart - First pitch grounded slowly up the middle. Renteria tagged second for the force but was tripped by Weeks and lost the ball. An ugly play that should have been two.

This past Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys traveled to Lincoln Financial Field to play the Philadelphia Eagles in what was a win and you’re in the playoffs game.  This game had a lot of build-up prior kick-off.  The Eagles found out, about 15 minutes before the game started, that the stars had aligned for them; the Bears and Buccaneers had both lost.  This game had everything football fans wanted.  It was the ‘Boys against the Birds, with their playoff destinies on the line.

Each week I will answer questions submitted by my loyal readers.  I personally read every single email I receive.  I will pick out the best five or so to use for the weekly post, as I won’t be able to answer all of them.  I will also answer one or two questions on my daily posts as well.  Now it’s time to open the mail!

It has been over a month now since the 49ers fired head coach Mike Nolan and replaced him with assistant coach Mike Singletary. "Right now, the guys realize that we do have something here," To what degree, I don't know, but we do have something special here", Singletary said after first being named interim coach. In the 5 games since Singletary took over the 49ers are 2-3 and just last week came away with a 10-3 win in a defensive struggle against Buffalo. The 49ers are playing harder, the coaches are coaching better, the team is actually better. Although a 4-8 record and an assurance that the 49ers will fail to make the playoffs for the 6th straight year can't please to many fans, Mike Singletary should. Singletary said he's "having the time of my life" as head coach. "This is what I was born to do -- there's absolutely no doubt in my mind." He has taken responsibility when the team hasn't played well and he will go straight after players when they make mistakes. Both of those things former coach Mike Nolan wouldn't do.

No one is saying it. The networks and big newspapers love to ignore the WAC, Mountain West, and others as if they were a conservative Republican with no charisma. In my area, for example, the Utah-BYU game was not even on television. A game between two top 20 teams was unavailable. A game that would determine one of the schools in the BCS this season was a no-show.

I love Alabama Crimson Tide Football. I love everything about the program, the proud heritage and the lifestyle. The stone fisted blows struck by Paul “Bear” Bryant still echo through every acre of Tuscaloosa to this day. You would be hard pressed to find a school, a town, or a culture that loves their team more than the University of Alabama.

Okay, so-- being a Titans fan the last 3 weeks has been an emotional roller coaster. We started the season with a lot of speculation about Vince Young's throwing ability and it didn't look that good in game one. There were a couple of dropped catchable balls, so he looked off and very confused out there. It was like watching a kid that's had too much sugar and gets let loose in Chuck-E-Cheese; he doesn't know where to start first, and he sure does make a scene trying to figure it out. I still consider this to be part of a starting quarterback's growing pains in the NFL. I mean the guy is under so much pressure to perform to everyone's expectations, that it's almost impossible for him to make ANYONE happy. The problem with the average NFL fan is that after one good showing of their hometown QB, they immediately develop unreasonable expectations for the next game.
