Well it's finally here...TRAINING !

And it started off with some mixed thoughts in my mind. First off, I had never hear the 49ers "sound off" while they were going through stretching. It sounded GOOD to me. It actually brought back memories of when I was playing in New York.

was going to make Gore the focal point of the offense and that he was going to get the best out of Vernon Davis. Needless to say...none of it happened in my opinion.

Gore had a pretty good season but, I think he could have been a LOT better if his skills were utilized better.As for Vernon, we all saw where Martz's system left him...on the line of scrimmage for the most part as a blocker. Now, if that is what Matrtz meant about bring out the best in Vernon, then I guess he did his job. I was under the impression that Vernon was going to be burning down field and leaving LB's in his dust. As for the QB thing...well that was  complete disaster! More sacks given up then a potato farm. How in the hell can start a THIRD string QB over a Number 1 draft pick? I'm not sure but Martz did it. Well, when Mike Nolan was fired, I thought Martz would change his tune a bit...he did but not willingly. When Mike Singletary took over, things began to look a little more interesting. We DID see Vernon catching balls down field and we also saw a change at QB. Hill came in (due to an injury to Smith) and started making things happen that SHOULD have been happen all season long.

Mike Singletary called out TE Vernon Davis on the sideline.  He then sent him to the showers while the game was still going on.  He later blasted him in the post-game press conference.  I don’t know how good or bad Singletary will be as a head coach in the NFL…but I guess we all know who is in charge!

Vernon Davis is 6'3" 250 lbs and looks like a greek god. But I believe Vernon Davis is a bust in San Fran. He has not lived up to being a good TE. Davis for his career has 77rec 861 yards and 7 td. That is what 49ers fan wanted him to do for a season not 3 season in the NFL. I know the 49ers have gone through some coaches in the last few years but Mike Martz offence doesnt use TE very much and that is not a good sign for Davis. Martzs' offence is working they have been putting up some numbers as of the first 4 weeks so far. You can not tell me that are not throwing the ball in SF. JT just through the ball 36 times last week against the Saints and Davis got 1 catch for 19 yards. We need to cut him lose after this season. I thought he was the next Kellen Winslow Jr. but Davis does not have the injuries Winslow had early in his career and JT is throwing the ball. We need a Brent Jones TE. Bye
