Pro Bowl

nbsp;       Last year, the Cowboys sent 13 players to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl.  Granted, a few of those players made it by name alone, but for the most part they deserved it.  When you go 13-3, as the Cowboys did last year, you tend to get a lot of coattail votes.  This year the ‘Boys will be sending only 5 players.

We got a guy in! Patrick Willis, the 49ers 2nd year ILB has been named to his 2nd consecutive Pro Bowl. His stats support this selection: 121 Total Tackles (3rd in the NFL and 2nd in the NFC), 92 Solo Tackles (2nd in the NFL and 2nd in the NFC), 11 Passes Defensed (51st overall in the NFL, 24th in the NFC, 4th among LB's in the NFL, and 3rd among LB's in the NFC), and an 86 yard Interception return for a TD against the Seahawks in Week 2.

After the end of last season in which the 49ers posted a horrible 5-11 record I looked once again to an off season filled with question marks and wondering what new changes the team would make to improve itself. Would the 49ers finally fix the mistake they made when they traded Terrell Owens and draft a proper replacement in the draft (Rashaun Woods doesn't count) or would they go the same route for years and sign an aging veteran who will do nothing but take up cap space? See Curtis Conway and Johnny Morton.

Afterward, we are numb and feign interest in the Pro Bowl, just kidding ourselves that it is an actual game.

This season has been pretty wild! I got to attend one game – in San Francisco – and it was electric! I was even more excited when I realized that it was Bryant Young’s last home game before retirement. I’ve been ultra-impressed with Brett Favre, David Garrard, LaDainian Tomlinson, and even Terrell Owens. We’ve seen great commercials, inspiring coaches, and the loss of iconic figures.
